We are Validus Pastoris Kennels, “Home of the Total Shepherd”. We strive to produce the highest quality in German Shepherds and Australian Shepherds possible. When you purchase from us, you become part of the V.P.K Family with lifetime support for you and your new family member.

Our German Shepherds are based on European standards of breeding. We breed dogs with the best temperament, dark pigmentation, bone structure and health in order to achieve this. We started with puppies imported from some of the best pedigrees in Czech. Before any dog is considered for breeding, they will be 2 years of age or older and have all of the appropriate genetic testing, heart and eyes tested and either OFA or PennHip.

Our Australian Shepherds are based on the working line Aussie. They are suitable for a wide variety of jobs. Australian Shepherds are one of the smartest breeds and are very loyal to their person. Farmers use them to help work,herding cattle, sheep, horses and just being a great companion. Some are suitable to be used as service dogs, detecting seizures, high blood pressure, migraines and much more. Our Aussies are great all around dogs that can be used for pretty much anything.  

My wife has over 20 years of experience in training and rescue. Previously, she did rescue for the “so-called” un-adoptable Caucasian Ovcharkas and German Shepherds. She spent countless hours working with them so they could get a second chance at life and find their forever loving homes. She has trained dogs for public access for service work, behavior modifications, and basic obedience.

I spent 14 years in the Navy where I learned many valuable skills including organizational and structure which I have carried over to my everyday life. I fell in love with the German Shepherd Dog as a kid and my passion for this breed continued to grow. I am so excited to be able to work with such wonderful animals and amazed every day at what these dogs can accomplish

We are located in Woodland Alabama. We have 13 acres where our kennels are set up. We are working on a training area that will be used for agility training, confidence building, obedience, nose work as well as protection training. We have been working hard to make our kennel and training facility something we can be proud of. We welcome you to come and visit V.P.K.
